The Great Outdoors: Trail leads to summer’s sweet addiction
I am hiking a trail I have not hiked before, deep in shade, forest giants above me. Two people might get their arms around trunks on these ramrod-straight white pines and hemlocks. Above their top branches, a gray sky keeps sun in abeyance. The trail skirts a bog, thick and tangled with shrubs.
